Tung Lung Chau |
Tung Lung Chau,(東龍洲) previously known as
Nam Tong Island, (南堂島) or Nam Fat Tong, (南佛堂) is an island
located off the tip of the Clear Water Bay Peninsula in the New Territories of Hong Kong.
It is also referred by Hong Kong people as Tung Lung To or Tung Lung Island.
The island is largely uninhabited ( Wikipedia )

It’s regarded as the best place for rock climbing 🧗♀️
yes Tung lung chau is one of the best places in Hong Kong for rock climbing
not one or two but many places where you can climb
And Several caves to explore in Tung Lung Chau if you dare.
Because I went with photographers, we didn't focus much on hikes but to explore only caves
soon will back to tung lung chau to explore more with our team fearless hikers group hong kong.
Also there is campsite ⛺️ on the northeast of island 🌴 which is about 15 minutes walk from Ferry ⛴.
Top of mountain offering great views.
It belongs to the Sai Kung district,and close to clear water bay
Many hidden Beaches are there with clear and blue water with big waves 🌊

from ferry follow the path which will lead you to an junction
we decided to spend our time on the beach first
because we saw a small cave from ferry so we wanted to check it first
but that was a small cave and were close
the length of the cave is around 15 feets only but closed

the beach water is very clean and green it would be more fun
if we go in summer to tung lung chau island
at least we can swim in clean beach
our next step was to go to Tung Lung Fort
which is likely a short distance from the tung lung chau campsite
follow the path from ferry to the junction
there you will able to see sign board of campsite
also there's few restaurants pass the restaurants
keep in mind there is 2 Campsites
between the restaurants one campsite is near tung lung fort
and you will need to turn right in the restaurants street
another campsite is near to Tung Lung Chau lighthouse
for the lighthouse turn Left

if you'r to walk on rocks follow the red row which going straight
from the campsite otherwise you can take green raw
we decided to go get rock experience and there we saw
a large number of rock climber

i wish someday to join rock climber
from here we turned a bit backwards and
we find a way to climb up which was very slippery but we did it

now we were at top and we were able to see rock climber from to top
please be careful the rock climber are climbing there
don't throw anything from here and don't get very close to the corner
next we walk to down for campsite
you can get here easily if you choose left side from campsite

our next step to find caves and first we followed the google map
for theme park which was also near from the campsite but this time
we need to turn right from campsite

which is going from the right hand side of campsite
passing through the tall trees,slightly walk up we turned to the left side
also you will be able to see theme park cave from tung lung fort

we entered here from the side where is a man climbing
our next step now to go to top to where he is climbing
we went a bit backward and turned left to go up

and i decided to go over there

next we back to trail walk up hill
where is satellite communication & helipad in google map
but before we get to satellite service center we saw
ribbons going down on our left
we decided to follow ribbons
and i checked in map there's another cave waiting for us

i don't know the cave name but what i got from google map
is 肚臍洞

water level in sea were down so we were able
to cross the cave in some website on google
you will see there is water in the cave
any it was time to walk around
and go back to ferry where our friends were waiting for us

How To Go To Tung Lung Chau Island ?
Every day Ferry service to the island from Sai Wan Ho
and Sam Ka Tsuen on weekends and public holidays.
You can take ferry from Yau Tong or Sai Wan Ho for Tung Lung Chau
but our route was SAI WAN HO
and the Second Stop of ferry at Tung Lung Chau
